Vegetarian/Vegan Friendly – Their flour tortillas are made with lard. Location – 5610 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90019 With all the negative things happening out there, Sonoratown opening their second location is a bit of good news that is much needed. Or you can go to their original location in Downtown LA and enjoy their food seven days a week from 11am to 9pm. The Mid-City Sonoratown is currently only open from Tuesday-Saturday from 11am to 4pm, so plan your visit accordingly.

It’s chock full of meat and a generous amount of guacamole, with no rice filler. Grilled green onion, lime, radish and salsas – roja and tomatillo – are included with your order.įor those with larger appetites, there’s the Burrito 2.0 – choice of meat (steak, chicken, tripe or chorizo), guacamole, Monterey Jack cheese, pinto beans and chiltepin salsa. It’s on the tiny side, so order a couple of tacos or their bean & cheese burrito (which is perfect for a small child, though they may want it without salsa if they’re sensitive to heat) to accompany it. Shredded breast meat chicken in a stew of Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, blistered tomatoes and Anaheim chiles made for an irresistible cheesy hand-held treat. My hands down favorite was the chivichanga. The spiciness of the pork sausage really made the taco come alive (and had me gulping down water). This was a solid steak taco.Įven better was the chorizo taco, using meat from Chori-Man. Somehow the tortillas managed to strike a balance between being delicate yet strong enough to contain all the fillings. I came for their costilla (grilled steak) tacos, using meat from Mexico, with a spicy salsa roja, cabbage and avocado sauce, on top of their impossibly thin housemade flour tortillas. I arrived before the typical lunch rush and the place was already buzzing. They are located in a teensy weensy mini mall, with a very small parking lot out front. Since online takeout orders were through third-party sites, I placed my order over the phone. Just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, I made sure to visit within days of their soft opening. *This print is shipped rolled in a tube to ensure safe delivery and ships within 3-5 business days of payment.Sonoratown, famed for their award-winning tortillas, opened their second location in Mid-City – a wish come true for those of us living in LA’s Westside, who are too lazy to make the trek to Downtown.
